About the Mobile Market

UDFB’s Mobile Market is the latest edition to our program lineup which is taking on our ever-growing mission to support people experiencing food insecurity in Northeast Seattle. The Mobile Market expands our capacity to serve more communities and those we already serve even better.

As the capacity of the Mobile Market grows so will our reach. It is a hope that with time the Market will be open daily, in various community’s throughout the week. To get started we are bringing an additional day of service to Magnuson Park food desert which is full of supportive housing and other services. Currently we are distributing every Friday, out of the Magnuson Community Center parking lot from 4pm-7pm. This pantry time is designed to serve folks who work traditional hours and folks who especially struggle with food insecurity over the weekend.

UDFB purchases over half of the food offered at the food bank to provide certain core items consistently; the rest is donated or rescued from grocery stores. We stock our shelves continually throughout the day, but availability of many items varies due to the inconsistent nature of donations.
