Food Bank Open House — Wednesday, August 13
Join us for an Open House on Wednesday, August 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Food Bank.
This is a great opportunity to tour the Food Bank, enjoy small bites from our Apple A Day Café, and learn more about our programs:
- U-District Pantry — Our primary food distribution site in the University District, serving 1,500 households weekly.
- Home Delivery Programs — Customized boxes of food delivered by car and bike to customers unable to access our pantries, serving over 550 households weekly.
- Packs for Kids — A weekend meal program supporting 975 students across 16 Seattle Public Schools.
- Satellite Pantries — Weekly mobile food pantries located at Magnuson Park and North Seattle College, serving 450 households weekly..
- Rooftop Roots Farm — Grows produce for the Food Bank and Apple A Day Café, provides plant starts to customers, and offers educational opportunities for the community.
- Apple A Day Café — Serves 300 nutritious meals four days a week to University District Pantry customers.
- Community Connector — Links customers to community resources and services to help improve economic stability.
- Biodigester (Coming Soon!) — Converts food waste into renewable natural gas and biofertilizer through anaerobic digestion, achieving zero waste.
