A note to the community from the organizers…
Over the past 12 years, the Sand Point neighborhood has generously donated over $8,600 and 33,000 pounds of food and toiletries through the annual Sand Point Thanksgiving food drive.
As we all know, the needs are greater now than ever!
However, this year, as with so many other things, our food drive will be different. We’ve made changes to keep us all safe.
The food bank can stretch your dollars surprisingly far, and because we want to do our part to limit community contact as much as possible, we will primarily be doing an on-line and mail-in food drive.
- On-line: Donate directly to the “Sand Point Neighborhood Food Drive” on the University District website. Choose the “Donate Now” button at https://www.udistrictfoodbank.org/donate then direct your gift to the “Sand Point Neighborhood Food Drive” from the next drop down menu.
- By check: Make checks payable to “University District Food Bank Mail” and mail them to
University District Food Bank, Attn: Sandpoint Food Drive, 5017 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105
- Food donations: We will have limited availability for food pick-up on Saturday, Nov. 21. If you are unable to
donate on-line or via check but would like to donate food, please contact Pat Sullivan at 206-914-4354 before Nov.
21 to arrange for a pick-up. (Key needs this year are for toiletries, cleaning supplies, meals/snacks for children schooling at home, and other healthy non-perishable items.)
